Types of Motivation..which Motivation Type gives you the
Strength and Ability
to
Perform and Accomplish...

Have
you ever wondered just which
motivation type,
can improve your life....providing you with clearity....enhancing your abilities each and everyday,
in order to live
your life
to it's fullest
potential,
with purpose in your
existence...?
Many
individuals
believe that they can define
their purpose within the very
things that motivate them. While others may be more visual and
react to
things they
see that motivate them.
We
are all
different, thus there is no ONE
magic motivation solution that will
motivate
all of us to take action....everybody’s motivation requires their own
personal
triggers…
Here are a few of the specific types of motivation:
1) Achievement...
The
longing for achievement…this motivation type is that of when an
individual looks to reach a goal.
Although
this may be of an intrinsic in nature, not
all individuals adopt achievement as their motivation.
But rather are
motivated
by a specific goal. And in addition in order to attain that goal, they
will do
whatever possible or that is required to reach it. The simplicity or
complexity
of reaching the goal is dependant on the individual’s perception.
Accomplishing
goals are very much an individual thing, what one may find to
be a relatively easy goal to reach; another may find or feel the same
goal to
be virtually impossible.
Nevertheless,
the
motivation of achievement has a way of growing in
complexity as you work your way along.
2) Incentive...
Motivation type
involves rewards. Some individuals will do
everything possible to reach a specific goal when they are motivated by
the
belief that they will receive a reward.
Although the
motivation of achievement is focused on the goal itself, an
immense amount of motivation is directed by the idea that the goal will
provide
individual benefits.
Companies
use
these types of motivation by way of providing bonuses or other
types of incentive for additional work.
The
company’s
position for motivation is that, by offering incentives the
objective is to raise moral with their employees, encouraging them to
work
harder, ultimately raising productivity, leading to rewards…
3)
Fear
motivation...
As incentives
will not work for all individuals; occasionally fear and
punishment are used as the alternative option.
This
motivation
type involves outlining detailed consequences should an
individual continue to not comply with a set of expected behavior.
Fear
motivation
is often witnessed within companies and is used in parallel
with incentive motivation. Employees are often subjected to a reward
and
punishment system, in which they are given incentives for accomplishing
set out
goals, but they are also given punishment when they refuse to comply
with
specific policies.
2) Socialization...
For a number of
individual’s socialization is their main
motivation for actions. Take peer pressure for example…for the need to
be
treated equally and or feeling of acceptance among a group of people,
some
individuals will be ready to do almost anything
5) Change
motivation...
From time to time
individuals will create changes
within their surrounding environment. The motivation type, change
motivation, is
often from the basis of genuine growth. As an individual may simply
have had
enough of how certain environmental things as a result developed new
and better
ways to progress and grow from it.
6)
Intrinsic -
Extrinsic Motivation...
Extrinsic
motivation factors are
external in nature to the individual and unrelated to the task they are
performing. For example these may include money, high grades,
and or
other Rewards.
Intrinsic
motivation factors are of a deeper more meaningful nature,
an
individual who is intrinsically motivated have a tendency to be more
willing
and eager to learn new material. Thus bringing a more
significant learning
experience and going deeper into the subject to fully understand
it.
Conversely,
extrinsically motivated individuals may
require additional
motivation by way of rewards or bonus to perform the same tasks.
From what you can
see here there are various types of motivation. Each and
every one of us has experienced a number of forms of motivation
through-out our
lives.
We’ve
acquired learned behaviors by
way of motivation. Our entire lives are as a result of the various
types of
motivation.
However
the question
may still remain....
How does one decide what motivation is
appropriate under give circumstance...?
Why
is this important…because
our
motivation dictates our choices and our behavior?
Also consider
this....there are several types of
motivation and some may be more effective than
others.
Nonetheless,
the
decision
is up to you....what motivation type will be best suitable
under your given circumstances and needs......
